China is the leading producer of Geranium Oil, with significant production centered in the Yunnan Province. The region’s favorable conditions allow for easy cultivation, and some farms can harvest the plant up to four times a year. Annual global production is estimated to be around 80-110 MT, with approximately 20-30 MT consumed domestically, and the rest exported.

France and the USA are among the largest importers of Geranium Oil, with France presumed to be the biggest consumer, especially for fine fragrances.

  3. Insect Repellent: Its naturally occurring compounds can act as an insect repellent, making it a popular choice for natural bug sprays and creams.
  4. Hormonal Balance: Geranium Oil is believed to help regulate hormones and may be beneficial for women experiencing menstrual discomfort.
  5. Anti-inflammatory: The oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe minor skin irritations and inflammation.

The versatility of Geranium Oil in perfumery, aromatherapy, and skincare makes it a valuable and sought-after essential oil in the global market. Its floral and rosy fragrance, coupled with its therapeutic benefits, make it a favorite among consumers and perfumers alike.
